Design Your Lifestyle Part 2

Identify what will work for you best.

It’s simple. What I like about this is the addictive level of exhilaration when we learn to only pursue the things we have the heart for. So I believe that if you do this, you will no longer work a day in your life.

First, understand what you are good at. Second, name what you love to do. As for me, coaching is one of my fortes. Writing, on the other hand, is my favorite activity. If I will bring both to the current trend, can you predict how I would convert this into cash?

From my previous post, you can tell that we are heading the direction of being able to use our passion and talents into a profitable venture; so good that it can replace our job. Furthermore, increase leverage when we add the internet to the mix to boost the income.

Let’s say that you’re working on an 8-5 job or maybe shifting schedules. You can use an hour before your job starts and another hour after your shift. It will take a couple of months to strengthen your new-found past time into a full-blown business. Sometimes, your ideas will flow in the midst of your day job. Those are the things you want to take note of as they come. For now, your creative juice will help you find the next best step. But in general, you certainly will have to do a bit of research in your chosen niche. As you get acquainted with the resources available to you online, you will see that you are becoming an expert in your field. Trust that it’s a process. You need to be patient as you go along.

Let’s take it apart bit by bit. Trust me, it’s simpler than you think. We will start with 5 of your expertise or where you’re good at, and 5 of the things you are fond of in the order of best to least. Easily identify your “fond of” list by thinking about what you would do if you have a one week vacation. Let’s look at the example below.

Good at:

  1. Videography
  2. Photography
  3. Directing
  4. Motorbike Racing
  5. Administrative work

Fond of:

  1. Motorbikes
  2. Traveling
  3. Cars
  4. Shopping
  5. Meeting New People

Videography and motorbikes are the top of these lists. Again, the common denominator is the Internet. You will have a lot of platforms to maximize so that you can share with many about what you know. The people that will follow you are the ones that will not sit and search for these topics because they got you to tell them about it. And those who are not interested in motorbikes or traveling, you ask. Well, as you create your brand, more and more people will check you out. For now, we will first enrich your presence in your favorite social media.

As your first step, try to create your own “good at” and “fond of” list to identify what will work with you best. Remember that you can make more money doing the things you already developed a passion for, than work for things you must do because you are expected to perform as you are paid for. Follow me on my next topic to talk about the nitty gritty of redesigning your lifestyle through online entrepreneurship. See you on the next page…
